Fish, Eat, Sleep, Fish, Eat, Sleep............
Well! I have been very active fishin in The Tub!
Started of Fri arvo with Dad off Clev Pt, Dad caught a decent Bream and let it go, action was warm to hot but most too small, High tide was about 8 pm, we went out at low around 4 30 came in an hour after sunset.
Sat morn was like glass and I was out by 7 am, 3 hours of glassy flat water and Autumn Sun just by myself relaxin', Caught a nice Bream Sth of Cassim Is, let it go.
Sunday was blowin 15 to 20 knot Nthleys, Helen and I went south of Toondah Harbour (where the Barge 4 Straddie comes in) into Oyster Pt, turned out it was outa the wind, hovercrafts were zoomin around, drifted and caught 2 nice Whitting.
Public Holiday Monday I was out to the left of The Leads at Wello Pt at dawn, very beutiful sunrise, Gavin arived and showed me "Mountain Hole" and some other spots too secret to mention. We fished together all mornin, he in his boat and me in mine, then Shaun and Lee rang from the boatramp so we picked them up and continued fishin close into the mangroves and out again into some sandbars in deeper water to no avail.
So there u go, heaps of boating and fishing, and I learnt a few things.....
No matter how still the conditions are in half an hour it can turn to chop if the wind gets up.
Because of the shape of the coastline around here there is almost always a calm spot around handy.
Theres spots out there where the bigger fish hang out and with a hand held gps or depth sounder and more local knowledge I can get on lots of good spots within easy reach.
The best thing I learnt was that one up in the boat I can get the boat to plane, thus lifting it and scooting along at a decent pace! It was like changin up into overdrive!
The other best thing I learnt was how cool it was to go fishin' with Dad, after not fishin' with him for so long, it was really good.
